Build-A-Cell Coordinator

We are looking to hire a coordinator for our center activities.

The position will involve coordinating outreach and policy activism, as well as research and community building activities of the center. This include, but is not limited to, helping us write policy briefings and white papers, and coordinating press articles and popular science and outreach activities.
One of the goals of Build-A-Cell is to establish large, international collaboration with research funding, therefore part of the job will include fundraising presentations and contacts with US government and non-government science funding representatives.
The position also involved small amount of typically administrative duties, including help with organizing Build-A-Cell workshops and processing travel reimbursements to members.
The position might include travel: domestic to Build-A-Cell workshops, for meeting with legislators and funding agencies, as well as possibly international to coordinate European and Asian collaborations.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable quickly learning facts in a new field and is a good writer.
This position could be a great opportunity for someone interested in building a career in science management, scientific advocacy or consultancy.

If you are interested, please email Kate Adamala, with "build-a-cell coordinator" in the subject.

The physical location of the job will be at the University of Minnesota, and it is our preference that the candidate is willing to relocate to Minneapolis.
If we find an ideal candidate who is unable to relocate permanently, we would consider other arrangements, with part-time physical presence in Twin Cities and most of the work done remotely.
